Krull Lodge Hunting

A unique combination of plentiful nesting cover, year-round running water, well-managed row crops, and large contiguous tracts of native prairie land, all contribute to the high populations of our various species of game birds. Guests have a rare opportunity to hunt Pheasant, Sharptail Grouse, Greater Prairie Chicken and Grey Partridge all on the same property. The ranch also contains 5 private shooting preserves totaling more than 4500 acres, extending the pheasant hunting season from September 1st until March 31st.

The Dogs at Krull Lodge

Most guests choose to hunt with our dogs, which are Deutsch Drahthaars, German versatile hunting dogs bred and trained here at our kennel vom tapferen Herzen. These dogs not only point and retrieve all species of upland birds, but retrieve ducks and geese from water blinds or pits. However, clients are welcome to bring their own dogs if they prefer.

Our dogs have been featured on several television shows, including: A Dog's Life hosted by Jameson Parker and Darleen Carr-Parker, Benelli’s American Safari with Chris Dorsey, Outdoors with Larry Csonka, What The Dogs Taught Me and Cast and Blast with Scott Linder, and New Century Outdoors.

They have also appeared in articles in Pointing Door Journal, Traveling Wingshooting, and Shooting Sportsmen magazines.
